Sculpture

My sculpture is predominately made in ceramic and most notably I like to explore the theme of fauna in this medium. I like to use a range of textures in conjunction with the clay, and an array of methodologies in the making of the work

For instance in the making of the pheasant and the woodcock below, I used a professional firearms expert when the clay was still soft, to shoot the work with a shotgun and a rifle for specific mark making and connotations, before being biscuit fired in a kiln.

The birds nest in 'Cuckoo' is real - and was built in the sculpture by a visiting bird. The end result came from this collaboration, after the baby birds had flown the nest.
